3 Reasons Ebenezer Scrooge Is My Hero

No, not the “light as a feather, merry as schoolboy” version.

The “Bah Humbug” version.

1. He doesn’t waste money

What’s wrong with bundling up instead of burning more wood (aka money)?

We could all use a little more of that (I know I could!)

2. He loves his work

Don’t we all deserve to say TGIM at the beginning of the week instead of TGIF at the end?

Good for him for creating that kind of career for himself. (I can relate.)

3. He values his time

Like an uninvited Slack, his nephew and the charitable gentlemen barge into his office demanding his time.

I admire his guiltless demand that they leave him alone.

Before you call me a Scrooge…

In those ways, he had a money mindset to be modeled.

But while I applaud his means, I disagree with his ends.

Not wasting money, loving my work and valuing my time is a means to maximize what I can give back.

I believe the wealth we build is meant to be shared.

And we should use the opportunities we’ve been given to generate even more opportunities for others.

Fun Fact

Did you know that Christmas tales from the Victorian age are always ghost stories?

Apparently, they loved a good fright for Christmas back then.
