“Do what you love” -Eddie Van Halen

We’re in Cleveland for our friends’ wedding this weekend.

And you can’t come to Cleveland without hitting up the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame.

So we spent yesterday perusing the annals of rock history and learning lots of trivia.

Did you know John Lennon’s voice on Twist & Shout is so raspy because they recorded it at the end of a

12 hour recording session (back then you only did one day in the studio). Fun fact!

The day climaxed on the 6th floor where they had short videos from 4 of the greatest guitarists to ever

live.

One of them was Eddie Van Halen (obviously). It was an interview taken just a couple years ago before he

died.

And 62 year old Eddie said one thing that really struck me.

To paraphrase he said he felt like the luckiest guy in the world because he’s never had to grow up. Playing

guitar is his passion and everyday he still feels like a teenager just doing what he loves.

I thought that was pretty cool (and no surprise).

But it also made me think about all our Financial Zen Members who will be financially free at 51 and be

able to do whatever they want with the rest of their lives.

So take an ironic twist on this Labor Day and think about what you could do for your remaining 49 years

that doesn’t feel like labor.

What would make you feel like a teen everyday because you love it so much?
