45 lb plates left on the barbell forcing the woman who’s NOT lifting 135 lbs to put them away.
The driver who “forgets” the car to the right has the right of way when simultaneously approaching a 4-way stop.
For someone with mild OCD and a high standard of consideration for others, this stuff drives me nuts.
And therein lies the lesson.
No matter…
…how passive-aggressively I place the sign on top of the dirty mugs in the sink…
…or how much I audibly grumble when cleaning up other people’s weights…
…or how hard I throw dirty looks at the heedless driver…
…it doesn’t change a thing.
The energy and thoughts I spend on things I can never control is a terrible waste.
And Financial Zen Masters don’t waste money OR their energy.
Focus on the things you can actually control.
And accept, then let go of the things you can’t.
Enjoy your 3-day weekend! You deserve it!
