I Quit Micro Dosing Anxiety

I’m done! I’m out! I quit!

(No, not Financial Zen.)

I’m done with “anxiety micro-dosing.”

We all do it, whether it’s the confirmation bias blackhole of Twitter or hate scrolling through Instagram or rage-watching your favorite “news” show.

They all produce a negative emotional response that we enjoy for some reason.

I’m not sure what that’s all about. Why would we enjoy anxiety?

No idea, but I know it ain’t healthy!

Every time I flip through the news on my phone I end up reading about crime in SF and national politics.

It doesn’t add to my day. It makes me scared and angry. And yet I do it all the time!

So this week, I “unfavorited” all the news feeds that micro-dose anxiety.

If I’m going to feed my brain junk food, it shouldn’t be the kind that causes cancer.
