Allot Your Time And The Tasks Will Expand

“Your tasks will expand to the time allotted,” is a warning against perfectionist procrastination.

But what if we inverted that? “Allot your time and the tasks will expand”?

If you wanna write a novel, set aside 30 minutes a day to write even if all you do is stare at the blinking cursor.

Eventually, the words will come.

If you wanna get in shape, go the gym 3 times a week even if all you do is stretch.

Eventually, you’ll be exercising.

If you want to improve your finances, schedule time every week to just log into your financial accounts.

Eventually, you’ll find things to improve.

The most important part is to give yourself the grace to JUST show up. Nothing else is required.

That will help eliminate avoidance rationalization. JUST. SHOW. UP.

I learned this when we started meeting with our Financial Zen members on a monthly basis.

What I’ve found is that there is ALWAYS more to do.

Even with our members who do all their homework and clean their plates before every meeting.

Within that space we always find another layer to dig.

Your money, like fitness, has no finish line.

If you give it the time, there is always room to level up.
