I hired too early. I leased too early. I signed up too early.
My employees, my office and my coaching program were all purchased from a position of weakness.
I could technically afford them, but they all strapped me for cash.
I rationalized that I “needed” them to get to the next level. “Gotta spend money to make money,” I told myself.
But it was terribly stressful and cost me a lot of sleep.
After 15 years of looking under the hood of other people’s finances, I can confidently say that buying from a position of weakness is the #1 cause of financial stress.
When we buy too much house/car/lifestyle, it’s not that we can’t afford them. It’s that we have to stretch for them.
We’re at our weakest when we lift from a stretched position.
I learned my lesson and I now only buy from a position of strength.
Neither my new employees nor my office nor my new coaching program will dent my margins.
And that’s because I waited until I could afford them without stretching.
