The last two weeks crushed me. (And I love it.)

The last 4 months have been tough. The last two weeks crushed me. And I love it.

It all started in July. To free up time for our trip to Hawaii with the in-laws, I squeezed 4 weeks of meetings (44 of them) into just two weeks.

2 days before we were due to leave, the family dog got sick and we rescheduled for August.

So again in August – 4 weeks squeezed into 2 (and a successful vacation.)

In September – taking my mom to Paris. 46 preps, meetings and follow ups squeezed into two weeks. Then mom got COVID and we rescheduled for October.

So for the 4th month in a row, I just jammed all of October into the last 2 weeks.

I didn’t have time to write content. I didn’t have time to work out. (Those are my non-negotiables.)

I didn’t have time to do anything except prepare for meetings, meet, and follow up from meetings.

I am limping across the finish line… and I am SO grateful.

I’m grateful because it was a forcing function to streamline our meeting process. It’s now a highly efficient machine. Not a single click is wasted.

I’m grateful because it also forced me to recruit. Two new support staff will be onboarded by the time the November meetings roll around.

But I’m grateful most of all because the finish line I just limped across is MINE.

Limping across someone else’s finish line can be soul-crushing.

And while you may feel crushed limping across your own, there are very few things in life more gratifying.
