It’s amateur month at every gym across the country.
And while I applaud anyone starting their fitness journey, promise me one thing – you won’t be THAT guy.
His jacket, a towel, and weights were spread across three benches and yet he was nowhere to be found.
Then I spotted him in the back of the gym at the cable crossover doing something resembling a tricep pushdown.
When he got done with his set, he came back to one of his 3 benches and scrolled through TikTok for 5 minutes.
He did a set of chest presses and then wandered off for another 10 minutes (while still maintaining ownership of his 3 benches).
All I kept thinking was how badly this guy needed to be shown the ropes.
Even just a few sessions with a trainer would have straightened out his lack of gym courtesy – and more importantly – shown him how to lift weights properly.
Assuming he can afford $100/hr to hire a trainer, he 100% should.
It will fast-track him along his fitness journey. He won’t waste time doing it wrong, see gains faster and won’t get any side-eye from less forgiving gym rats than me.
Hiring a professional money coach (like Financial Zen) will help you make more progress – and faster – than you ever could on your own.
And then Present You will receive less side-eye from Future You in 12 months.
