I’m 30,000 ft over Tennessee on my way to the East Coast.
One of the flight attendants does NOT want to be here.
The other one is a ray of sunshine.
On a flight, there’s not much you can do about a grumpy flight attendant except avoid her and only interact with the guy smiling.
Financial Zen’s goal is to be the ray of sunshine on your flight.
I recently changed dry cleaners after 15 years. During COVID they reduced their hours from 7am to 7pm to 9 to 5.
Unless you work from home, picking up and dropping off is challenging at best.
The final straw was when they gave me back two shirts with massive stains that were not there when I dropped them off. They shrugged without even offering me a refund on the cleaning, much less my shirt.
So I left for Marina Cleaners who’s hours are convenient for their CUSTOMERS, not them. They even offer free pick-up and drop-off.
Financial Zen’s goal is to be like Marina Cleaners.
Finally, there’s my barber.
Thankfully, my wife learned how to cut my hair during COVID because she’s had to fix my new haircut about 50% of the time.
Despite begging and pleading with the barber to cut it shorter, get rid of that cowlick, thin it out, she basically just refuses.
So I made an appointment with a new one for next month. Stay tuned.
My point is that we get what we tolerate.
So if there are services you’re using that you’re TOLERATING, put in the work to find one you’re pumped about.
They’ll probably cost the same as the one you’re tolerating but be a completely different experience.
Our life is not a flight 30,000 feet in the air. We don’t need to settle for miserable flight attendants.
