Financial Planning Annual Calendar

Over the holiday break, I put together a service calendar for our Financial Zen Members that anyone can use to stay on top of their stuff.

If you’re a Member, this is a sneak peek into the next 12 months. 

If you’re not, then use for yourself or with your advisor.

JANUARY – Financial Planning – revisit financial goals, scrub financial projections and establish annual savings targets

FEBRUARY – Liability Planning – Review liabilities and credit reports from all 3 bureaus 

MARCH – Tax Return Prep – Gather tax docs and forward to tax advisor.

APRIL – Estate Planning – Review POA’s, trustees, beneficiaries and distribution schedule. Verify all beneficiaries are up to date (401k’s, IRA’s, life insurance, etc.)

MAY – Tax Return Review & Projections – Scrub tax return for accuracy and opportunities to reduce tax liability or refund for current year.

JUNE – Investment Planning – Verify allocations in all accounts. Rebalance as necessary. (FZ MEMBERS – we do this on autopilot for you everyday)

JULY – Insurance Planning – Review all current policies – life, disability, home and auto, umbrella liability. Ensure coverage amounts are correct and premiums have been paid.

AUGUST – College Planning – Review college projections, adjust savings rates

SEPTEMBER – Retirement Planning – Review retirement goals, think critically about “post-financial zen”, ensure all tax-advantaged retirement accounts are being leveraged

OCTOBER – Cash Management – Review bill pay systems, cash allocations and strategize to minimize cash-on-hand.

NOVEMBER – Employee Benefits – Analyze, strategize and select employee benefits for the following year. 

DECEMBER – Year-in-review – Review investment performance, goal achievement and planning for next year.
