How Jerry Seinfeld got so funny

Jerry Seinfeld wrote jokes everyday.

When he got done writing jokes for the day, he’d cross out the day in his “joke calendar” with a big, red X.

The reason he marked each day with an X was not to feel a sense of accomplishment.

It was to create a chain of X’s.

He knew there would be days when he didn’t want to write or would be “too busy” or the sky was too

blue or the grass was too green.

For those days to actually keep him from writing though, he’d have to “break the chain.”

And the thought of breaking the chain would be enough to overcome whatever excuse he had and put

his butt in the seat to write some jokes.

Today was SUPER busy for me, and I didn’t get to write Financial Zen Daily this morning.

So just now I was faced with “just skipping a day” because “eh, who would even notice” PLUS it was a

super productive day.

But I’ve written and sent content everyday since March…

…and I didn’t want to break the chain.
