I’m a fraud

You know how I’m always telling you to check your spending…know your numbers…observe your money?

Well, guess who’s got two thumbs and done a terrible job of following his own instructions?

Yup. This guy.

How could this have happened?!?!?

For 5 years I checked my spending on a daily basis. It was part of my morning routine and took me 2 minutes a day.

But this past June, I decided that checking your spending on a daily basis was too much to ask of you. So I downshifted to weekly.

To see how it fit, I also downshifted to doing it weekly.

And then once I started Financial Zen Live!, I knew I’d spend the first 5 minutes walking our community through their spending by doing my own, so I stopped checking it outside of FZL!

Well, here we are two months later and my spending is a mess.

Doing it weekly in 5 minutes isn’t possible.

So last week I went back to daily and I feel better already.

And in reflecting on it, “you get what you tolerate” keeps popping into my head.

I may have done you a disservice by trying to make it too easy for you. I mean we’re talking two minutes a day, not 2 hours or even 20 minutes.

So daily it is. Check your spending daily.

Pro Tip: Go to “On Startup” in your Chrome settings and select “Open a specific page or set of pages” and make sure your Financial Zen Portal is one of them.
