My Most Satisfying Moment is “The Flip”

It’s not closing a new member. (THEIR life is about to change, not mine.)

It’s not when people follow the piped piper and stay invested through tough times. (Although I appreciate your trust.)

It’s not even during good markets when people are crediting me for their portfolio performance. (I’m just following the system created by people much smarter than me.)

While all of those things help me dent the universe, they’re not the things that give me the most satisfaction.

The moment that gives me the most satisfaction is “the flip”.

It usually happens in passing and it usually happens without them even noticing it.

But I notice. And at that moment, my effort is rewarded.

“The flip” is the identity shift.

It’s when someone has shed their old skin to emerge as a new and beautiful financial butterfly.

It could be someone who was a chronic overspender, who mentions in passing that they just feel like they could be saving even more.

Or it could be someone who takes into consideration their Financial Zen Number when deciding which cabinets to buy.

Or it could be someone that dumps a bunch of money into a down market, not because they trust me, but because they actually understand the opportunity.

“The flip” is the moment when it’s clear they are no longer operating from a “trust the expert” perspective.

Instead, they are operating “as an expert.”

At that moment, my role shifts from being the engine to being the turbocharger.

But more importantly, I know I could die tomorrow and they’ll still carry on lessons that will get passed down for generations to come.
