It’s biologically impossible to lose weight and build muscle at the same time.
Losing weight requires a caloric deficit. Building muscle requires a caloric surplus.
So bodybuilders alternate between the two.
They’ll overeat for 6 months at a time to grow and then they’ll do a 6-month cutting phase to lean out.
But that’s not true with money.
You don’t have to choose which phase to focus on.
If you’re spending less (losing weight), then you’re automatically saving (growing muscle).
Alternatively, if you’re saving more, then you also have to be spending less.
Most people prefer the carrot of saving more, but some sickos (like me) enjoy the stick of spending less.
Whichever motivates you more is the one you should focus on.
