Recharging Is Productive

I hit the wall Wednesday.

After staring at my computer screen for nearly 30 minutes, I decided to cut my losses.

But my mind wouldn’t let go. So 30 minutes into my Xbox sesh, I realized I needed an active recharge.

To me, an active recharge is any activity that requires enough concentration that there’s no room for any other thoughts.

So I hopped on my skateboard and hit the Marina boardwalk.

When I got home I got in a 30min PPP dance sesh (personalized Peloton playlist ????).

Then I picked up my guitar for the first time in nearly 6 months and jammed out for a bit.

After two hours of a solid mental disconnect, I… went back to work.

It took me 5 minutes to finish what took me 30 minutes of space-staring to NOT finish.

It was a sharp reminder that recharging is just as important to productivity as doing the actual work.

As I’ve said before, we need to be reminded more than we need to be taught.

Enjoy the weekend and make sure to recharge!

Next week will thank you for it!
