I turn 45 Saturday.
So I suppose I’m colloquially “mid-life.”
(I plan on living to 110, but I digress.)
There’s no mid-life crisis in sight.
I’m not where I want to be, but is anyone ever?
Life SHOULD BE a rolling cycle of setting goals > striving > achieving > setting bigger goals > striving > achieving.
I think the key for mid-life crisis avoidance (or any “achievement anxiety”) is to celebrate your accomplishments while knowing that the best is yet to come.
If you do it right, every decade should be better than the last.
My 40’s have been pretty solid, as has the “first half” of my life.
I’m not anxious, but incredibly excited about what the “second half” has in store.
More “Rick’s Reflections” to come from poolside in Vegas the next couple of days…
Sincerely,
Rick “mid-life?” Valenzi
P.S. The market was down again today. Big whoop. If you’re feeling the slightest ounce of concern, read FZ Daily from Tuesday.
