“So two weeks ago, you said you were going to launch your challenge this coming Monday. Are you on track?” my business coach asked last Thursday.
“Absolutely not,” I replied. “I have 90 hours to put in my “time jar” each week. The first marbles in is member service. Then it’s product development, operations, compliance, finance and marketing in that order.”
Roanna didn’t flinch. “So what are you willing to let go of?”
Slightly frustrated, I said “I can’t let go of any of it! Someone has to service our members and pay the bills and keep the lights on!”
She still didn’t flinch. “Uh huh. But what can you let go of? What tasks can you get someone else to do for you?”
And it was like someone thumped my forehead and opened my third eye for the first time.
“WHO NOT HOW! Of course! How many times do I have to learn that lesson?!” I excitedly exclaimed.
“Why on earth am I building my sales funnels?! I wasted an hour this morning picking out a font. That is not a good use of my time.”
“Go on,” Roanna encouraged me.
“So I need to stop wasting time picking fonts and invest my time hiring someone to do it for me. The design part of building funnels is not a skills set that will accelerate my path.”
THE LESSON: Ask who not how.
Leveraging labor by hiring experts will help you collapse time.
You’ll accelerate towards your goal faster than you ever could on your own. (And experience a lot less frustration and overwhelm along the way.)
Sure, you have to do your own push ups, but you don’t need to create the push up PLAN.
Think about your money.
Are you wasting time picking out “Finance Fonts” or have you smartly hired someone – AHEM! – to do that for you?
