The IRS announced yesterday that they will no longer conduct in-person, unannounced visits.
With that announcement, the ONLY way the IRS will EVER contact you is via snail mail.
THAT’S IT!
They will NOT call or text or email or knock. Period.
So do NOT click that link, respond to that email, open that door or answer those questions on the phone.
Now if your parents are still alive forward this to them immediately.
IRS scams are overwhelmingly targeted at seniors.
FUN FACT: The reason the IRS discontinued in-person, unannounced visits was for the safety of their agents.
Apparently, they only came a-knockin’ if you owed more than $110,000 in back taxes.
I can only imagine the “feedback” those IRS agents must have received.
