It’s Saturday! Which means it’s time to Observe your money and check your spending.
Nicole and I already did ours and I felt waaaay better afterwards.
Remember how we were like $1600 over our trailing 30 day spending goal last week?
Well, we didn’t so good pulling back on the reins.
We maaaay have gone out for steaks on Tuesday.
And I maaaay have driven to work twice which required $23 daily parking fees (at least I get the early bird special!)
And then I got hit with not one, but TWO parking tickets in one day to the tune of $192.
So I was a little anxious because it felt like instead of pulling back, we just went to town.
But we checked anyways, and believe it or not we’re now only $500 over budget!
Granted, some of that fell off the books because it was over 4 weeks ago, but whatever. I still felt pretty good that we weren’t now $2500 over.
So that’s one of the benefits of knowing your spending. Often times the avoidance behavior I’ve witnessed actually isn’t necessary necessary because it’s not as bad as you think.
If you’re the type of person who “doesn’t want to know”, then I encourage you to know and I’ll bet you it’s not as bad as you’ve built up in your head.
