Time is either spent or invested

Time – like money – is either spent or invested.

You INVEST time when you use it to add value to your life.

And there’s only two ways to INVEST your time:

1. Recharging

2. Leveling Up

Leveling up involves growing your current skills set or acquiring new ones.

Time invested in things like books, courses or practice time will pay dividends over time.

Recharging involves restoring your energy levels.

Quality time invested in things like yourself/kids/spouse/others replenish your energy stores both physically and mentally.

But recharging comes with a warning. Vegging out is NOT recharging.

When I (dork alert!) play Xbox, I’m not recharged at the end.

It doesn’t add value to my life. It’s brain candy.

There’s nothing wrong with that, but the minutes I SPEND playing video games are minutes I’m not INVESTING.

So like actual candy, it’s best to keep the brain candy at a minimum and invest most of your free time this weekend to recharge and level up.

Have a great weekend!
