Why you feel broke even though you make so much money

I slammed my right heel down on the asphalt.

I had passed over something in the road so amazing that I had to throw on the “emergency brake”.

I leapt off my skateboard and walked back 5 feet.

There it was in all its glory. Just laying in the middle of the road for anyone to pick up…

….a certified…U.S. minted…Abraham Lincoln…copper piece…

…yes, folks, I found a penny!

And then I saw another one 2 feet away. And then another one.

I looked for more, but 3 cents was the extent of my treasure.

Someday those pennies will give me more money than I could ever need.

I hear what you’re saying… “But Rick, how can 3 cents do anything at all for your future?”

So let me clarify.

The pennies themselves aren’t the key to my future wealth. The key is the mindset represented by picking

up those pennies.

I have wired my brain to respect the hell out of money.

Sure part of that comes because I’ve been dead, how-will-I-pay-rent broke.

But the other part is because I am constantly reinforcing my identity as a Financial Zen Master.

Financial Zen Masters don’t waste money. Period.

And when you reinforce that identity consistently, a magical thing happens.

You literally wire your brain to release a shot of dopamine when you find pennies on the ground.

And once that feels good, your monkey brain takes over and you’re on autopilot.

So why do so many people make so much money and still feel so broke?

Because they don’t respect money.

They haven’t wired their brains to release dopamine when they see pennies on the ground.

And the ultimate result of that is a life living high on the hog with nothing to actually show for it.

But not you. You are a Financial Zen Master.

You respect money.

And you know retiring before your 50 is built on the back of the right mindset… one that gets you excited

when you find pennies on the ground.
