Wanting to get out of the house, he decided to run all the errands at the same time.
So he went and picked up the new router, he returned the speakers and then swung by auto shop to get
the oil changed.
Feeling good about getting 3 things done, he drove home looking forward to crossing those things off
his list.
He got home. Went to the fridge. Picked up the pen. And sighed when he looked at his list.
His wife had added 4 more items to the list!
Realizing that he just took 3 steps forward and 4 back, he shrugged with resignation, muttering to himself
“Oh, well. Happy wife. Happy life.”
Bobby’s Honey Do List will keep him from retiring earlier than 65.
Why?
Because he is wasting time on activities that don’t need to be completed by him.
He is not using LEVERAGE to maximize the ROI he gets on his time.
Labor is one of the oldest forms of leverage and we are living in the golden age of the gig economy.
You SHOULD NOT be spending any time on any activity that does not bring you joy or money.Period.
Hire a task rabbit to clean your gutters.
Get a part-time personal assistant to get your oil changed.
And for God’s sake stop doing your own taxes!*
Then go spend that time on the things you truly love instead like your family or your business or your
passions!
*The reason to hire a tax professional is not because your taxes are so complicated you need help. It’s
because your time is so valuable, you want someone else to do it.
