Wordle is Life. Life is Wordle.

With cocky confidence, I looked down at a grey M followed by green O-U-S-E. It was only my 2nd attempt.

I was already counting the W on my 27-33-37 record against my Mom.

Grey H. Green O-U-S-E.

WTH!?

Flabbergasted I stared at my unused letters. Not a single one spelled out a word I knew.

So I typed in every available letter.

Shaken letters after shaken letters, it finally flipped T-O-U-S-E. Nope.

More shaken letter… D-O-U-S-E. Nope.

More shaken letters until.  L-O-U-S-E.

Try number 6. Swell. I text my mom. She got it in 5. Even sweller. I reluctantly typed in the new score 27-34-37.

“I don’t even know what these words mean!” I outside-voiced to Nicole.

So I Googled each one.

“Louse – oh right. Of course.”

“Douse – ah. Didn’t know that’s how you spelled that.”

And then I typed in my new favorite word of all time – Fouse.

It defines the culture I hope to build at Financial Zen.

It describes my perspective on the meaning of life.

It is the best word I’ve ever found that I have no idea how to use in a sentence:

FOUSE: Ready, eager, prompt, quick, striving forward, inclined to, willing.

Yes! Let’s go!

Like so much in life, yesterday’s Wordle went from the highest of high expectations to the lowest of low disappointment of results to finding a diamond in the horse manure I didn’t even know I was looking for.

F-O-U-S-E!!!

Worth the “L”.
