Your 6-Month Challenge

If you’re like 83% of the rest of the population, one of your New Year’s resolutions is some form of getting your finances straight. Maybe it’s spending less. Maybe it’s saving more. Maybe it’s just understanding how it all fits together.

In other words, you want to conquer your finances this year.

Your Financial Zen Challenge: Set a timer for 6 months. By the first week of July you should have all of these checked off your list:

  • Establish short-term and long-term (10+ years) financial goals
  • Develop and execute a plan to:
    • Save for college
    • Save for retirement
    • Pay off student loans
    • Diversify company stock
    • Lower taxes
    • Allocate short and long-term investments
    • Track spending
    • Maximize employee benefits (aka “free money”)
  • Purchase:
    • Supplemental disability insurance
    • Supplemental life insurance
    • Umbrella liability policy
  • Complete your estate plan

Graduates of our Financial Zen Bootcamp complete all of these in 6 months (with minimal time and effort).

So if you haven’t completed these by July, then it’s time to contact us.

That will still give you enough time to keep your resolution and conquer your finances in 2020. And that’s a helluva way to start the decade.

P.S. If you’ve already completed this checklist, good for you! (I bet you’re a Financial Zen member). More importantly, forward this challenge to the people you care about.
